Nicholas J. Teele is professor emeritus, Doshisha Women’s College of Liberal Arts (DWCLA), where he taught from 1988 until retirement in 2012. President of DWCLA, 2007-2009. One of the founding members of the Department of International Studies (DIS). His research fields are classical Japanese and comparative literature. His most recent book is Nostalgia: Imagery in Kawase Hasui’s Woodblock Prints, a translation of Hasui no Nihon dōkei by Hayashi Nozomu (2020).

Kenji Suzuki is a professor in the Department of English, DWCLA. One of the founding members of DIS, he was a professor there until 2021. His fields of research are American and Canadian Studies. At present, he focuses on nationalism and the creation of national culture in the United States and Canada. His publications include a chapter on Québec nationalism and aboriginal claims in Senjūmin, Ajiakei, Akadian: hen-yō suru Kanada tabunkashakai (Kōrosha, 1998).
